Although we raise German Shepherds we enjoy and love
all animals. We thought it would be nice to add a Parrot page to our site for everyone to enjoy! We own 2 beautiful Hawk-headed Parrots, Ruby & Diego. They both have been with us and were hand raised since they were just a few weeks old. Anyone ever seeing a hawk-headed parrot, will always say, "they will take your breath away". They surely do, there really is none more magnificent, in the parrot family.
Hawk-headed parrots (Deroptyus accipitrinus) are magnificent birds from South America, commonly called the Brazillian Hawk-Head. These Parrots are excitable and dramatic. Hawk-heads are excellent companions for the experienced bird keeper. These highly intelligent parrots are very affectionate and many are excellent talkers. Hawk-heads are active and a cage full of toys IS a must for these birds.
